Video Production & Photography in Dubai — Shot by Our Own Crew, Contracted Through Our UAE Company

Last updated 2026-10-02

Dubai video production, with a crew that belongs to us

WWV Marketing (Worldwide Vendor) is a video production company serving Dubai and the wider United Arab Emirates. Gulf clients contract with Worldwide Vendor F.Z.E, WWV's registered UAE company, while the film, photography, strategy and editing are produced by WWV's own crew out of the studio at Arabella Plaza, New Cairo. Nothing is subcontracted.

That matters because of how most Dubai production actually works. An agency wins the brief, then hires a freelance director of photography, a rental kit house and an outside editor. The buyer never meets any of them. The quote moves between the pitch and the call sheet, and the film that lands is rarely the idea that was sold, because the people who sold it were not on set.

WWV runs 16 brands day to day, most of them on monthly retainers, across healthcare, tourism, fashion, food and professional services. That is not a portfolio of one-off shoots — it is a studio that produces, edits and publishes work every week.

Whether you are shortlisting a creative agency or a production company, this page should read as both. The capability is the same team.

What do you shoot?

Five formats, produced in house, in Arabic and English. Arabic is never a subtitle track laid over an English edit: Arabic scripting, voiceover and on-screen type are written for the market as separate creative decisions, because a line that lands in English rarely lands in Arabic word for word.

Brand film and campaign TVC

Hero film for a launch, a repositioning or a campaign running behind paid media. Concept, treatment, shot list, shoot, grade and edit from one team, with separate Arabic and English cuts rather than one master with two subtitle files.

Product and e-commerce photography

Catalogue work for brands selling online. On-white packshots for marketplace and PDP consistency, lifestyle sets for paid social and email, and re-shoots as SKUs change so the catalogue does not drift into three different looks across two years. Shot to a fixed lighting and framing spec so set 40 matches set 1.

Social-first vertical content at volume

This is where the retainer earns its keep. A recurring shoot day produces a month of cutdowns sized for Meta, TikTok, Snapchat and Google — not a single hero film that runs dry in three weeks. Vertical and square versions, Arabic and English, built to the placement they will be bought against.

Corporate, case-study and testimonial film

Founder and leadership pieces, client testimonials, recruitment and investor film. Controlled-set work that usually does not need a Dubai location.

Event and activation coverage

Same-week highlight cuts, stills for press and social, and speaker or panel recordings from launches, conferences and retail activations. See event management and activation coverage for the full production side.

Who actually holds the camera?

WWV's own crew, on WWV's payroll, from the New Cairo studio. Strategy, content, design, photography, film, editing, media buying and events are all done in house, which means the idea written in the strategy deck is the idea that gets shot and the idea that gets published.

On a shoot day that looks like this: the person who wrote the concept is on set. The account lead is reachable directly, not through a producer coordinating three freelancers. The editor has seen the brief, not just the rushes. When something on location does not work — the light, the talent, the location permission — the decision is made by people who know what the film is for.

The subcontracted model is not always wrong. A one-off hero film with a specialist director attached can be the right call, and some Dubai agencies manage freelance crews well. The honest trade-off is this: when the shoot is subcontracted, the client loses the line between the idea and the execution, and loses it again between the shoot and the edit. Consistency across twelve months of content is where that model usually breaks, not on a single film.

The kit is owned, not rented. Camera bodies, lenses, lighting and grip belong to WWV and travel with WWV's own crew, which is why a shoot day does not carry a rental house's margin and why the same cameras and the same lighting spec turn up on month twelve as on month one.

The commercial consequence is simple. Because the crew is on payroll rather than booked by the day, a Dubai client gets production at a Cairo cost base without the work being handed to a third party. That is a cost argument and a quality argument at the same time, which is the half of it nobody on this SERP makes.

How does a Dubai shoot actually run?

The first objection a UAE buyer raises is "your crew is in Cairo." Here is the answer in full.

Shot in the UAE

The crew mobilises to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah for work that depends on the location or on UAE-based talent. Commercial filming in Dubai requires a permit from the Dubai Film and TV Commission, and individual locations carry their own permissions on top — DIFC, Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah and the major malls each have their own process and lead times, and drone work is a separate approval again. Requirements and fees change, so confirm current rules with the Dubai Film and TV Commission directly before locking a shoot date. WWV files UAE filming permits directly rather than through a local fixer, so the permit, the schedule and the shoot are held by one team.

Shot in the Cairo studio, delivered to Dubai

Product, tabletop, packshot, talking-head and any controlled-set work has no reason to be shot in Dubai. It shoots in the New Cairo studio, is reviewed online, and is delivered to the UAE on the same timeline at a materially lower cost, because there is no crew travel, no location permit and no location day rate in the quote.

Which one your brief needs

The decision rule we give on the first call:

Your brief Where it shoots Why
Location is the story — skyline, venue, retail floor, a specific Dubai setting UAE The location cannot be recreated
UAE-based talent, executives or customers on camera UAE Travel for talent costs more than travel for crew
Live event or activation in the UAE UAE Date and place are fixed
Packshots, catalogue, tabletop, food, on-white e-commerce Cairo studio Controlled set, no location value
Talking head, testimonial, corporate interview Cairo studio, or UAE if the subject is in the UAE Follow the person, not the backdrop
Social cutdowns and volume content for a retainer Usually Cairo studio, with periodic UAE shoot blocks Cost per asset drops sharply

Most competitors will not give you that rule, because half of it reduces their day rate.

The sequence from brief to delivery: brief and call → treatment and shot list → production schedule, permits and talent → shoot → first cut → review and approval in the portal → final delivery in all required formats and language versions.

Working hours are Sunday to Friday, 08:00 to 18:00 Cairo time, which covers the full Gulf working week. The team is reachable on WhatsApp on +971 55 693 6219.

How do you review and approve the edits?

Every WWV client gets a portal, built on Wieldy, the agency platform WWV uses to run the studio. For production, that is where cuts are posted, where comments are left against the edit, and where approvals are logged with a timestamp.

If you have a legal, medical or compliance sign-off chain — and clinic and healthcare clients always do — this is the part that saves you. One record of who approved which cut and when, instead of three versions of feedback scattered across WhatsApp threads, email chains and a shared drive nobody updated. The content calendar sits in the same place, so the film and the posts it feeds are visible together.

Revision rounds are agreed in the scope for each deliverable and logged in the portal, so “one more small change” is a decision with a record rather than an argument.

What work can we look at?

Eight clients we can name, grouped by what each one proves to a Dubai buyer.

Sector Clients The production challenge
Regulated healthcare Beautify Clinic, Salemeen Clinic Content that persuades without making a clinical claim, and survives a compliance read
Travel and destination Best Egypt Holidays, Shino Tours, Golden Gulf Destination film that sells an itinerary, shot across locations on a fixed schedule
Fashion and product MZ Abayas Fabric, drape and modest-wear styling that reads correctly for a Gulf audience
Food and FMCG Fit Oat Food on camera, packshot consistency and appetite appeal across a full SKU range
Professional services Sanad Consult Credibility film for a category with no visual product to shoot

What does video production cost in Dubai?

Most production companies on this SERP publish no pricing at all. We will publish the structure, because it filters out enquiries neither side wants.

Two commercial models:

Model What it covers Who it suits
Project production A single film, campaign or shoot, quoted against a defined deliverable list A launch, a one-off TVC, an annual brand film
Monthly retainer Recurring shoot days plus social management, content and media buying under one monthly fee Brands needing a continuous content supply — this is how most of WWV's 16 clients work

What moves a production quote in the UAE: the number of shoot days; location permits and location fees; talent, casting and usage rights; whether the crew mobilises to the UAE or the work shoots in the Cairo studio; and the number of language and format versions required. Two languages at four aspect ratios is eight deliverables per cut, not one.

How a production is quoted. Three structures, depending on the shape of the work: a day rate for a single shoot day, crew and kit included; a project fee for a defined deliverable set, such as a brand film, a product stills library or an event; or a monthly retainer where content supply is continuous. WWV does not publish a rate card, because a day in the Cairo studio and a day on location in Dubai are not the same cost. Bands are quoted in AED against your scope, on request. Deliverable counts, formats, language versions and the delivery schedule are set the same way — from the brief, not from a package.

Gulf clients contract and invoice through Worldwide Vendor F.Z.E, WWV's registered UAE company, so there is a UAE counterparty on the contract and the purchase order. Invoices are issued in AED, with UAE VAT at 5%.

Production is one of seven services, and they run together

Film and photography are not sold here as an island. WWV runs seven services in house — social media management, media buying, content creation, videography and photography, event management, public relations and e-commerce support — plus marketing strategy across all of them. See all seven services we run in house.

The practical consequence: the asset is shot by the same people who will buy the media behind it. Creative is built to the placement rather than retrofitted to it — a 9:16 hook written for TikTok at the script stage, not cropped out of a 16:9 master the week it goes live. Paid campaigns run on Meta, Google, TikTok and Snapchat, and budget, spend, reach and cost per result are reconciled and shown to the client every month.

Written by the WWV production team — the same crew that shoots, grades and edits the work described on this page, from WWV's studio in New Cairo.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have a UAE entity we can contract with?

Yes. Gulf clients contract with Worldwide Vendor F.Z.E, WWV's registered company in the United Arab Emirates. The contract, the purchase order and the invoicing run through the UAE entity, while production, crew and post are delivered by the WWV team from the New Cairo studio. Invoicing is in AED, with UAE VAT at 5%.

Is the crew yours or freelance?

Ours. Strategy, content, design, photography, film, editing, media buying and events are all produced in house by WWV's own team. Nothing is subcontracted. The people who wrote the concept are on set, and the editor has read the brief. That is the structural difference from the standard Dubai model, where the shoot is passed to a freelance director of photography and an outside edit house.

Can you shoot in Arabic and English?

Yes, and as separate creative work. WWV writes Arabic for the market from scratch rather than translating English into it, which means Arabic scripting, Arabic voiceover and Arabic on-screen type are decided independently. You get two films that each work in their own language, not one English edit with a subtitle track dropped underneath.

Do you handle Dubai filming permits?

Commercial filming in Dubai requires a permit from the Dubai Film and TV Commission, and locations such as DIFC, Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah and the major malls carry additional permissions and lead times. Rules and fees change, so confirm current requirements with the Commission directly. WWV files these permits directly, not through a fixer.

Who owns the footage and the rushes?

You own the final deliverables. Every approved cut, stills set and format version is yours outright on delivery, to run on any channel, for as long as you want, without a further licence fee to WWV.

Raw rushes and project files — the uncut footage, the edit timelines, the graded sequences — sit with WWV by default, because that is what makes a re-cut in month eight cheap instead of a reshoot. You can request them, and they are handed over.

Talent usage is the one thing that is not open-ended, and no production company can make it so: a cast face carries the term, the territory and the media that were agreed with that person. Usage is scoped per project and written into the contract, so you know before the shoot what you are buying and for how long. This is the question almost no Dubai production page answers, and it should be settled in writing before the shoot rather than discovered after it. Ask for it in the scope of work, not the small print.
